Who
I Work With
I work with US-based and global teams who need to move to a higher level of performance. Regardless of whether they are a project team, a support team, a department, or a newly merged organization, they have one thing in common -- they need to work better together so that they can reach their goals faster and more effectively. They can’t afford to lose precious time in the churn of inefficient teamwork.
They have neither time nor patience for a “kumbuya” meeting — yet they know that they need to do something to resolve the “people issues” that are getting in their way. They can’t waste project time on “feel good” meetings that won’t make a real difference.
Typically, my clients have all the technical talent, experience, education and ideas they need – but may not have the skills, knowledge and tools to help teams that are “stuck” get moving again.
Is this you?
Team Leader - Your team is exhausted, missing deadlines, or spinning its wheels. You’re doing more with less. You need the team to be running on all cylinders, but it’s not. Your team can tackle the technical challenges of their work, but the lack of teamwork is seriously getting in the way of progress. You need your strategic project back on track to deliver a successful outcome.
Manager – you know you’re not getting the best from your team. You know that you need to improve interpersonal dynamics, morale and performance of your direct reports. Bottom line accountability for their business results lies with you, and you need to turn things around – fast.
Department Leader - You’ve downsized, merged or integrated your department and productivity is plummeting. You need to help people through the change, and get them focused again. You need to get back to business.
Organizational Leader – You need highly functioning cross functional teams to move your products through the pipeline faster. Teamwork is critical, yet your line managers aren’t accustomed to leading in a matrix environment – and team leaders don’t know how to lead without authority. Your organization lacks a shared understanding how high performance teams work. You haven’t yet built the infrastructure you need to support, reward and accelerate matrix teams.
Clients are likely to be successful working with me if they are committed to understanding and resolving the issues that are getting in their way. They are willing to invest a day or two to “stop the action” and focus on concrete steps to build better team performance. My clients are not looking for a “feel-good” meeting – or for so-called “team-building” activities that do not have a sustaining impact on their work.
